1. Introduction
Welcome to Palm Tree Apartments and Backpackers. We're glad you're staying with us. Below are the terms and conditions that apply to your stay:
2. Booking and reservations
- Room rates are varied and subjected to change depending on demands and seasons.
- All bookings can be made through our website, by phone, email or 3rd party platforms.
- A booking confirmation will be sent automatically via email once reservation is secured.
- Age Requirement: Guests must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking.
- Any children under 17 must be booked and accompanied by parents or guardians.
- All bookings must provide credit card details or a bond of $200, and this can be refundable providing that there are no damages or outstanding charges.
3. Payment methods
- Payment must be made prior to or on arrival. We accept payment by credit card or bank transfer. We don't accept American Express.
- Credit card fees: 2% surcharge applied on credit card payments.
4. Cancellation policy
- Free cancellation 2 days prior to arrival, otherwise, full charge applied.
5. Check-in and check-out
- Check in time: 2:00pm onwards. ID (passport or driver licence) and credit card required on check in.
- Check out time: 10:00am.
- Early check in and late check out required prior arrangement.
- Late arrivals: please contact us in advance to make arrangements.
- Car park: some free parking spots available on-site of the property, first in first served. Some off-site street parking is also available.
- We don't reserve parking space for guests.
6. Guest responsibilities
- Respect for the property: Guests are required to treat the property and all facilities with care. Any damages or misuse of property will result in charges or repairs or replacement.
- Noise restrictions: Loud music and disruptive noise are not permitted on the premises. Please be mindful of others, especially between 10:00 pm and 07:00 am.
- Visitors: Visitors are not permitted in any dorm rooms.
- All visitors must comply with our noise and conduct policies.
- All visitors must leave the premise by 10pm.
7. Extra bed policy
No extra beds are available to be added to units.
8. Liability and damages
The Palm Tree Apartments & Backpackers and all staff are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
Guests are encouraged to use the locker for valuables.
9. Damage to property
Any damage to the room or facilities will be charged to the guest's credit card on file. Guests are expected to leave the room in the same condition it was provided.
10. Housekeeping policies
Daily service for apartments available on request.
No daily services provided in dorm rooms. All stay in dorm rooms provide own towels. Extra towel available on request, and it will be a small charge for it.
11. Guest laundry
A guest laundry is available on-site. $5 a load for wash or dryer.
12. Communal kitchen hours
7:00am - 11:00pm. For early access outside these hours, please arrange with the office or manager in advance.
Please clean up after use. Your help in keeping our space tidy is much appreciated!
13. Recycling guidelines
We have designated recycling bins for different materials:
- Plastic bottles and cans
- Green glass bottles
- White glass bottles
- Cardboard/paper
Please help us recycle effectively by placing items in the correct bins. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated!
14. Pets policy
Pets are not permitted inside any dorms, studios, apartments or communal kitchen.
15. Swimming pool policies
Open all year round, from 10am to 5pm in the winter and 9pm in summer season.
No running, jumping, eating, drinking or using glass or bottles around the pool.
Children under 18 must be monitored and supervised by their parents or guardians.
16. Privacy policy
Guest information and details will be kept strictly confidential for reservation purposes, and they will not be shared with third parties without your consent.
17. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.
Any disputes will be subjected to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
